If you're a Windows user, there's not much here for you, but give the FAQ & TROUBLESHOOTING section a read, especially at the CHANGELOG -=. If you’re using Archlinux, there’s a bit more to setup for that distro, which an anon wrote a small guide for here: I use Linux Mint 18 Sarah Cinnamon which is built on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial, so everything here is tried and tested for this distro.Īs for wine, I use winehq-stable 4.0.3~xenial as I have some compatibility issues with wine 5.0+, issues unrelated to these games but everything should still work fine on the latest release of wine. So get used to fixing these errors from lazy devs who don't bother being case sensitive, cause you'll be doing that a lot. Most importantly, after you've renamed the file correctly, you can simply press 'Retry' and it'll try to look for the file again, load it and continue on. All previous versions of RPG Maker simply fucking crashed upon not finding a file, you'd have to look at your terminal log to see what went wrong. but UNLIKE previous versions of RPG Maker, the engine actually tells you what the error is, what it's looking for and where it's looking for. It could be anything, from font files to script files, to audio/image files, etc.

It means if the game asks for, say, a font called 'CALIPR.TTF' your system will look for it and report 404 file not found despite 'CALIPR.ttf' being in the directory.
